LWVUS ISSUE PRIORITIES |
LWVUS Issue PrioritiesProgram PlanningRepresentative Government. International Relations. Natural Resources. Social Policy. Participating in the LWVUS Program Planning process every two years supports our League's mission as a grassroots, nonpartisan, political organization. It gives us the opportunity to assess the pros and cons of a variety of issues for study and to forward recommendations regarding these issues to the LWVUS. These are the national public policy positions that were adopted by the national LWV (not our local League) for 2006-2008. Representative GovernmentPromote an open governmental system that is representative, accountable and responsive. International RelationsPromote peace in an interdependent world by working cooperatively with other nations and strengthening international organizations. Natural ResourcesPromote an environment beneficial to life through the protection and wise management of natural resources in the public interest. Social PolicySecure equal rights and equal opportunity for all. Promote social and economic justice and the health and safety of all Americans. Comments, suggestions, questions? Contact our
