Women's History Month

During March, 2008, Women's History Month, the League of Women Voters of Grosse Pointe celebrates the achievements of women in the past and highlights the successes of today's women, making a difference in our community and across the nation.

"The League of Women Voters of Grosse Pointe is proud to recognize the dedication and incredible work that women in Grosse Pointe have performed to improve the quality of life in our community, to increase citizen understanding of major public policy issues and to educate citizens about candidates", said local League president, Wilhelmina Giblin. Most recently, the League convened a community discussion regarding efforts to pass legislation and regulate water use in our state and held a leadership skills workshop for high school girls.

The League will host an evening social to honor Women's History Month, Tuesday, March 19, 2008, at 6:30 pm. If you would like to attend this event, please call (313) 881-8844.

"The League is the place where smart, active women leaders are bringing about change", said Wilhelmina Giblin. "What better way to celebrate Women's History Month than to join the League and bring about change for your family, your neighbors, and the whole Grosse Pointe community"?
